National award winning singer Rahul Dehpande presents the awards

Pune, September 29 : Young artists from various fields were felicitated at the hands of National Award Winning Vocalist Rahul Deshpande at a special function held at Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP). The awards were given by the School of Liberal Arts to commemorate its foundation year and the silver jubilee year of SBUP. The awards were in the form of a memento and a certificate and were presented to young artists including Aalapini Nisal (Kathak), Karan Deogaonkar (Classical Vocal) and Mahima Thombre (Theatre). SBUP Chancellor B. Paramanandhan, Vice Chancellor Dr. Gangadhar Shirude, Principal of School of Liberal Arts Dr. Preeti Joshi and Dr Manisha Shukla were present on the occasion. The awards are being instituted to underline the importance of practising any art form along with the studies, informed Dr. G. K. Shirude. Rahul Deshpande's performance took place after the awards function at the SBUP Campus.
