Pune: A shocking incident unfolded in Mumbai's Malad area when a young woman discovered a human finger in her ice cream. The woman promptly filed a complaint at the Malad Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against Yummo Ice Cream Company. In response, the police have ordered the shutdown of production at Fortune Dairy's Indapur facility.

The Fortune Dairy Company, which produces ice cream for Yummo Ice Cream from various locations across the country, is now under scrutiny. Following the incident, the license for their Indapur facility has been suspended. Fortune Dairy's director, Sachin Jadhav, addressed the media in a press conference, detailing the events and the company's response to the incident.

Jadhav explained that Yummo Ice Cream has temporarily suspended supply to all its ice cream manufacturers as a precautionary measure. He also suggested the possibility of the incident being a deliberate attempt to tarnish Fortune Dairy's reputation. "The investigation is ongoing, and we are fully cooperating with the authorities. We are working diligently to resume operations as soon as we receive the necessary permissions," Jadhav stated.

Jadhav further clarified that the incident occurred in Mumbai's Malad area and that the company had not received any official communication regarding the matter. He emphasised that the facility was not sealed but confirmed that the license of the company was suspended temporarily. Production at their facilities in Indapur, Pune, and Ghaziabad has been halted until further notice.

Meanwhile, the police have sent the human finger to a forensic science laboratory for examination and are investigating the locations where the ice cream was produced.
