Pune: After clearance from the Home Ministry for the security arrangements of Central Industrial Police Force (CISF) personnel, the newly built terminal of the Pune airport will soon be opened for the Punekars. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Muralidhar Mohol, recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard.

Considering the increased passenger load at the Pune airport, a new terminal was built in the airport. Accordingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the new terminal buildings in Pune along with those at Kolhapur airports in Maharashtra on March 10. However, after three months of inauguration, the terminal was not opened because of a lack of CISF personnel.

However, after taking charge of the ministry, the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Mohol, immediately started following up on the matter with the Home Department. For this, he personally met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the matter with him. Finally, his efforts bore fruit, and the Home Ministry gave permission for various posts to be filled at Pune airport.

While informing about it, Murlidhar Mohol said, "Our efforts have paid off as we have received the sanction of filling 222 new posts at Pune airport. After filling up these posts, the number of CISF personnel at the Pune airport will reach 715. As the required sanction strength of CISF personnel has been completed, soon the terminal at Pune airport will be opened for passengers.

After taking charge as Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation on June 9, the minister, Murlidhar Mohol, personally solved the much-awaited problem of Pune terminal airport. Notably, a few days ago, he also met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him to remove the fighter plane of the ministry from the parking bay of the airport.
