Pune: In a concerning incident, two patients with the Zika virus have been found in Pune city. A 46-year-old doctor and his daughter have been affected by the Zika virus, and they are residents of the Erandwane area of Pune. Both patients show symptoms of mild fever and red spots on their bodies, and they are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

This is the first case of the infected Zika virus in the city this year. On June 18, the affected doctor saw red spots on his body and had a mild fever. Accordingly, his blood samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune on June 18. Accordingly, on June 20, he received his report, indicating he had been infected with the Zika virus.

After that, his 15-year-old minor daughter also showed some symptoms of the Zika virus. After the blood testing, she also found Zika infected. Both are currently receiving treatment in the hospital under special care. Luckily, no Zika symptoms have been reported yet in the individuals who came into contact with them.

After the incident, the health department of the municipal corporation started spraying medicine in the area where the patient was found. At the same time, mosquito breeding places are being found and destroyed. Also, a survey is being conducted in the houses in the area. If fever patients are found in it, their blood samples are being collected by giving them first aid.

Kalpana Baliwant, in charge of the Health Department of the Municipal Corporation, said that both Zika patients found in the city have mild symptoms and are in stable condition. Those who came into contact with him are being tested. Along with this, preventive measures have been taken by the Municipal Corporation. She also advised people to take care during the monsoon season.
