Pune: In a big move against accused police officials, the Pune Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, ordered the dismissal of two police constables of the police force from government service. Earlier, a few police officials from the police force were suspended. However, yesterday, the police commissioner dismissed two employees from the service after they were found guilty in the police investigation.

Dismissed police constables were Aadesh Shivankar and Pirappa Bansode, and they were accused of assisting Lalti Patil, a notorious drug racketeer, to escape from the Sassoon Hospital. Both police officers deliberately informed the police control room about the incident three hours later, which subsequently helped Lalit Patil successfully escape from the hospital.

In this case, a charge sheet has been filed against 15 people, including Sassoon hospital staff and police personnel. The Pune Crime Branch submitted a total of 3150 pages of chargesheets to the court.

Pune police arrested drug peddler Lalit Patil in connection with the illegal supply of drugs. However, he was later admitted to the Sassoon Hospital after he reported a pain in his chest. When Lalit Patil was admitted to the Sassoon Hospital, he escaped from there with the help of a few police officials.

In the subsequent police investigation, it was revealed that police constables Shivankar and Bansode did not go with accused Lalit Patil to the hospital, and they deliberately informed the police control room lately about the incident. The police investigation held both officials responsible for this incident and dismissed them from government service.
