Two Consecutive Murders Of Married Women In Dehu Road Area Raise Concerns
By Sunita Shinde
Pimpri: Domestic violence against married women is growing in the twin towns. In two separate incidents, two married women were murdered in the Dehu Road area last week.
Such cases are happening due to extra-marital affairs of one of the spouses, which lead to a tense atmosphere in a family, resulting in such crimes, police sources said.
The two murders of married women took place in Dehugaon and Talawade.
Pratiksha Jaydeep Yadav (21) was strangled to death in Dehugaon while Ranidevi Vishalkumar Bahadur (19) was also killed in a similar manner in Talawade on Dehu-Alandi Road.
Vandana Mandhare, a psychological counsellor, said, “Due to a discord in the married life, confidence takes the biggest toll and doubts grow. In the absence of a healthy dialogue, love and care, one of them takes destructive step and commits a crime.”
Experts listed the reasons behind such incidents: Emotional loneliness; overuse of social media and mobile phone; non-disclosure of passwords to each other; deteriorating social atmosphere; prejudice about the partner; lack of trust; too much free time; aimless life; unable to forget a past love affair; time-pass; illicit relations grow out of intimacy; contacting colleagues on the pretext of work at odd hours; and doubts grow if transparency is lacking.
The experts said that people with such mindset invite problems such as extra-marital affairs, frequent fights with their spouse. This also adversely affects the psychological growth of children and their future. Social morality deteriorates. Such persons and their families suffer its long-term consequences. Trust, love, respect and care in a relationship disappear.
To overcome such situations, they advised such people to take corrective measures. Couples facing issues in their marital lives should speak with each other frankly. They should inform each other about their friends and bring transparency in the relationship. Do not allow a third person to peep into your married life. Strengthen the bond through trust, love and care. Keep yourself engaged in work. Practise meditation and pranayama. Exercise daily and introspect. Do not put your life at stake. Control your anger and avoid fights. Gather yourself after realising a mistake and let your relationship blossom anew.
