Pune: In a shocking incident, three inmates of Yerawada jail assaulted one prisoner for providing crucial information about them to their opponent group. In this incident, the prisoner, Jagdish Sonawane, received major injuries.

This incident took place on the evening of June 24 at around 5 p.m. in the area of barrack number one of the CJ section of Yerawada jail. The victim, Jagdish Sonawane, sat in his barracks in the evening. At that time, three accused, Shrikant Rajendra Kale, Sanjay Harish Bhosale, and Akash Mangesh Sasawade, called the accused out.

In the anger of providing a tip-off to their opponent group, a trio of accused unleashed a heavy attack on Sonawane, assaulting him severely. In this attack, Sonawane received major injuries and was admitted to the hospital after the incident. The concerned police officials promptly intervened and detained the accused.

The jail officer, Revnath Kanade, made a complaint in this regard. Accordingly, a case has been registered against three accused under the appropriate section of the IPC. Assistant Police Inspector Ahire is conducting further investigation into the case.
