A 47-year-old woman from the Kodrevasti area of Mundhwa was found infected by Zika yesterday. The test report of this patient from a private laboratory has come positive for Zika, and the health department has not yet received her test report from the National Institute of Virology. After this case, the number of Zika-infected patients in Pune has reached three.

The woman was admitted to a private hospital in Hadapsar due to a frequent fever. Because her fever was undiagnosed, doctors conducted a test for the Zika virus. Her report from the private laboratory was positive.

Earlier, the father and his minor daughter were found infected in the Erandwane area of Pune. They are also receiving treatment at the nearby hospital. Meanwhile, Assistant Director of Health Department Dr. Pratapsinh Saranikar has sent a letter to the health chief of the municipal corporation. Along with this, mosquito repellents are to be sprayed in that area between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
