Pune: In a tragic incident on the night of June 30th, a tempo carrying warkaris overturned on Shiv Shambho Nagar of Katraj-Kondhwa Road, resulting in injuries to twenty devotees. The Bharti Vidyapeeth police have filed a complaint against the tempo driver, Navnath Lakshmanrao Chopade, a resident of Parbhani.

The accident occurred when the tempo, transporting warkaris, lost control and overturned. The collision caused significant injuries among the passengers, who were attending a religious event. Among the injured is Prayagbai Narayan Bokhare, a 72-year-old resident of Parbhani, who suffered a wrist fracture and other injuries. She has lodged a formal complaint against the driver, leading to the booking of Chopade by the Bharti Vidyapeeth police.

Senior Police Inspector Dashrath Patil of Bharti Vidyapeeth promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, he coordinated the immediate transfer of the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. The rapid medical response ensured that the Varkaris received prompt care.

Police Inspector Deshmukh is currently leading the ongoing investigation into the accident. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the driver’s loss of control and to assess any potential negligence.
