School Leaders come together to reimagine the schools of tomorrow

Pune: The Schools of Tomorrow (SoT) Summit brought together 100+ School Leaders from different parts of the world and over 300 educators from Pune & Mumbai for a one of a kind event to reimagine education. SoT is being organized collectively by five organizations - The Akanksha Foundation, iTeach Schools, Teach for All, Teach for India and The Circle India, all working to enable students unleash their full potential. The group is catalyzing an education movement to ensure all children have access to quality education, are able to thrive and lift their families out of poverty. 

The 3-day Summit was packed with meaningful interactions, engaging workshops, hackathons, masterclasses and school visits for the participants. The practical insights and tools equipped them to reinvent schools for a fast changing world. Speakers at the Summit include Shri. Shekhar Singh (IAS), Municipal Commissioner - Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Shaheen Mistri, Founder – The Akanksha Foundation and Teach for India, Utsav Kheria, Co-founder - Rocket Learning, Khushboo Awasthi, Co-founder - ShikshaLokam, and others. They emphasized the need for continuous innovation and growth in the education ecosystem. They also spoke about how education equity needs to be driven by purposeful local leadership in schools and collective action by all stakeholders. 

Shaheen Mistri, Founder and CEO of Teach For India, stated, “We believe that transforming education starts with empowering the leaders who drive it. By combining global expertise with local insights, we can create schools that serve every child and build a future where every student has the opportunity to thrive. At Teach for India, we firmly believe that building a better India starts in the classroom. We must enhance the quality of education and equip everyone involved in learning with future-ready skills.”

Ramabhadran Sundaram Director, Alumni Impact, Teach For India highlighted the importance of addressing key questions to drive educational reform. He stated, “Reinventing India’s schools to better serve all children requires systemic change. The ‘Schools of Tomorrow’ is an amazing initiative that focuses on transforming education and promoting leadership. We aim to empower educators to build better schools for the future and strengthen our role as a leading social impact organization.

Shekhar Singh (IAS), Municipal Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), emphasized the importance of aligning the agenda of transforming schools with global trends. He said, "Schools of Tomorrow is a great initiative and it’s important to recognize how innovation can become an integral part of education. We need to align our efforts to transform our schools with global trends and perspectives. "Schools of Tomorrow" conference is an excellent step towards understanding how innovation and equity can complement each other and in return serve students to its full potential. I hope to see more educators and leaders come together to share this idea and help teacher, students realize their full potential."
