February 19, 2025: On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, MLC Satyajeet Tambe has urged the Government of Maharashtra to make Chhava, the smash-hit Hindi biopic about Sambhaji Maharaj, tax-free in the state. Tambe shared a post on social media stating that every citizen of Maharashtra should witness the film, and making it tax-free will ensure that their history reaches the last person. Tambe has tagged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar in his social media post.

“Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sambhaji Maharaj have been a source of inspiration for generations in Maharashtra. The film brings the bravery and sacrifices of Sambhaji Maharaj to life,” Tambe said.

Tambe added that everyone should witness the historic saga unfold on the big screen. “I urge the state government to make the film tax-free so that everyone can experience it.”

Chhava documents the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and is a story of valour and supreme sacrifice for the sake of the motherland. The film was released on February 14 and has received rave reviews from critics and the public alike.
