Symbiosis Hosted “SIU and InterAct Conference: Shaping the Future of Electric Vehicles by 2040”.

Pune:  Symbiosis Institute of Technology and Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune in collaboration with Loughborough University, United Kingdom, organized the “SIU and InterAct Conference: Exploring the Role of the Pune Region in the 2040 Electric Vehicle Global Ecosystem” from 21st October 2024 to 24th October 2024 at the Symbiosis International University Campus, Lavale, Pune.

InterAct is a part of the Made Smarter Innovation (MSI) Challenge, a £300 million national innovation programme that aims to help UK manufacturing become more productive and competitive through the innovation and diffusion of digital technology and support the sector in achieving Net Zero by 2050.

In collaboration with Symbiosis International University, the InterAct Network hosted a roundtable discussion and two workshops at the SIU Pune Campus. Mrs. Sulajja Firodiya-Motwani, Founder and CEO @ Kinetic Green was invited as the Guest of Honour for the Inaugural Session. Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director of Symbiosis and Pro Chancellor, Symbiosis International University, Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International University were the other distinguished dignitaries present for Inaugural session.

The theme of Workshop 1 was “The Future of Manufacturing Ecosystems – The Role of the Pune Region in the 2040 Electric Vehicle Global Value Chain (GVC),” while the theme of Workshop 2 was “The Future of Work in the Pune Electric Vehicle Industry.” The 4 days events witnessed a very good response from the industry participants including Kinetic Green, Tata motors, Bajaj Auto, Kirloskar, John Deere, Dassault Systems, Spark Minda, Skoda Auto, Piaggio EV, Starkenn Technologies, Neilsoft, Raptech Technologies, Varroc, EY, Saj Test Plant, ARAI, ACMA, IESA, MCCIA, NICMAR and many more.

The workshops explored potential scenarios for the future of the electric vehicle sector in India, generating valuable insights to inform participants' strategic thinking. Industry visits to Spark Minda, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, and ARAI were also conducted during this duration, stated a press release .
