State-Level Eligibility Test (SET) Exam Scheduled For Today; Witnesses Increase In Candidate Number This Year

Pune: The State Level Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University for the post of Assistant Professor is scheduled for today, April 7. Notably, there has been an increase in the number of candidates appearing for the SET Examination this year compared to last year.
As per the information, the exam will be held at various centres in Maharashtra and Goa, and this will be the last exam to be conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University in the traditional (offline) mode for the SET Exam, as from the next year, the exam will be held in an online manner.
On the lines of the National Eligibility Test (NET), the MH SET exam is conducted twice a year by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) for the selection of assistant professors in various Maharashtra and Goa universities and colleges. This year, the exam for the SET exam is scheduled for April 7.
The university informed that last year, 1,19,000 candidates had registered for this exam. Notably, this number has increased this year to 1,28,243 candidates who have registered for the examination as of yesterday.
The examination will be conducted at 289 examination centres in 17 cities in Maharashtra and Goa. The admit card for the examination was made available to the candidates to download online. Pune University has said that all the preparation for this exam has been done by the SET department, and they are fully prepared for Sunday's examination.
Till now, the SET exam was conducted in traditional (offline) mode. But now it has been decided to conduct the SET exam on the lines of the NET in a computer-based manner. "Therefore, the SET examination conducted in the traditional manner on Sunday will be the last," informed the university.
Pune University said that the changes in the examination pattern are made with the aim of streamlining the examination process and enhancing efficiency.
