Ujjain: The video crazy youths of India have sunk to a new low. They are now even taking videos of woman being raped instead of rescuing them.

The Madhya Pradesh police said woman was raped on a footpath in Koyla Phatak, one of the busiest intersections in Ujjain, on Wednesday. The incident was captured by passersby on their cellphone but nobody rushed forth to to stop the heinous crime.

After the fact came to light, a war of words has erupted between the Congress and the ruling BJP. The Congress said the rape incident highlights the ‘deteriorating law and order’ in the state. The party said the crime took place in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s constituency which is another shameful fact.

Om Prakash Mishra, City Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ujjain, told reporters today, “ Around 3.30 pm today, a woman came to the police station and reported that she had been raped. Immediately a woman officer was called, her story was heard and an FIR was registered after informing senior officers.”

The police said the woman in her complaint has named one Lokesh as the accused. “Immediately a team was formed and sent in search of Lokesh and yesterday (Thursday) itself within two hours of the FIR being registered, we arrested Lokesh. The accused was brought to the police station and questioned, during which Lokesh admitted to committing the crime,” Mishra said.
