RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Taunts PM Modi, Says Let People Decide If God Is In You
Pune: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday said no one should declare himself to be god in an apparent remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an interview with a TV news channel during the Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister said, "Until his mother was alive, he used to believe that his birth was biological”. PM Modi said after her passing, he became convinced that he had been sent to earth by God since the energy he possesses cannot possibly have come from a human body.
While addressing an event to mark the centenary year of Shankar Dinkar Kane, who worked in Manipur towards children’s education and was popularly known as Bhaiyyaji, Bhagwat said, “The people should decide whether there is God in you”.
Bhagwat said patriotism and diversity are the country's strengths. ''Patriotism goes to sleep, on and off. Everyone should remember that as a nation we are one and that sentiment is important. We need workers who will draw inspiration from the life of national icons and make a lion's contribution,” he said.
Regarding the situation prevailing in Manipur, Bhagwat said, “The current conflict has hit Manipur hard, taking several lives and disturbing peace. The situation is challenging for the locals and even the outsiders who work there. In such a challenging scenario, RSS volunteers are putting in their might to bring the warring groups together and ensure peace. The RSS is regularly holding dialogues with local warring factions and trying to win their trust,” he said.
