Bharatiya Janata Party's senior leader Rekha Gupta has been named as the new Chief Minister of Delhi, as announced by BJP following the legislature party meeting on Wednesday. The BJP has come back to power in Delhi after a gap of 27 years, securing a solid majority with 44 out of 70 seats in the Assembly election. The election results were declared on February 8. The swearing-in ceremony for the new chief minister is set to take place on February 20 at Ramlila Maidan.

Rekha Gupta will be fourth woman CM of Delhi. She won the Assembly Election from Shalimar Bagh constituency.She defeated three times AAP MLA Bandana Kumari. She has been Delhi's BJP's General Secretary, BJP Mahila Morcha's National Vice President and a former DUSU President.
