Pune: AS rains pound Mumbai leading to water-logging and flooding in several areas including tracks, passengers in Pune and Mumbai have been hit hard.
Several passengers landed at the Pune railway station only to find that express trains have been cancelled.
The situation at Shivajinagar, Khadki, Chinchwad, Lonavala and Khandala stations was no different. Passengers heading for Mumbai, especially office-goers or business persons, were affected bigtime.
A railway spokesperson said express trains like Sinhagad Express, Deccan Queen, Deccan Express and Inter City Express starting from Pune railway station were all cancelled. Similarly, the same trains returning from Mumbai were also cancelled.
The cancellation happened due to water-logging on tracks between Kalyan and Kasara section of Mumbai division of the Central Railways.
Out of the 10 trains between Pune and Mumbai, only two Pragati and Indrayani were running.
Railway officials said they have no information about what will happen tomorrow whether the trains will run or not.
