Puneite Jinesh Nanal Shines at the World Games Series in Hong Kong

Pune: Puneite Jinesh Satyan Nanal (20), a student of MIT (WPU), has made his mark on the international stage by securing one silver and one bronze medal at the World Games Series held in Hong Kong from October 11 to 13, 2024. 

Competing in Inline Freestyle Skating, Jinesh earned a Bronze in the Speed Slalom and a Silver in the Classic Slalom event. 

The World Games are an international multi-sport event featuring sports and disciplines not included in the Olympic Games. 

Held every four years, they take place one year after the Summer Olympics and span 11 days.

 The event is governed by the International World Games Association and operates under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.

Jinesh is currently studying at MIT (WPU) and pursuing BTech Computer Science Engineering and Technology ( Third Year).

With 10 years of dedication under the guidance of Coach Ashutosh Jagtap, Jinesh has established himself as a formidable athlete in his sport. 

His recent participation in the Asian Games in China and the World Skate Games in Italy has solidified his ranking, currently standing at 7th in the world.

"Winning a silver and bronze medal at the World Games in Hong Kong was an experience that transcended mere achievement; it was a profound moment of pride and joy that I will carry with me for a lifetime. Standing on the podium, with my country's flag raised high, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection to my roots and a deep gratitude for the opportunity to represent my nation on such a prestigious stage.This experience has inspired me to continue pushing my limits, not just for myself but for those who look up to me. I hope to motivate others to pursue their passions with the same determination and heart. Winning those medals was a moment of triumph, but it also reinforced my commitment to represent my country with honor and dedication in all future competitions," Jinesh told The Indian Express.
