Pune: The series of tragic accidents is not stopping in Pune. Yesterday, one more accident took place in front of Shantai City Centre in Talegaon Dabhade at around 5 p.m. Notably, this accident was caused by the Municipal Council Chief of Talegaon Dabhade, N. K. Patil.

Patil was alleged to have been drinking at the time of the accident, and therefore he has been detained by Talegaon police for blood sample testing. In this regard, Siddharam Irappa Lonikar (age 37), a resident of Nadhenagar, Kalewadi, has filed a complaint at Talegaon Police Station.

According to Police Inspector Pradeep Rayannawar, Lonikar had come to Kotak Mahindra Bank in Talegaon Dabhade for some bank work. At that time, he had parked his Volvo car on the side of the road. Municipal Chief Patil was going on that road on Saturday at full speed. Suddenly, Patil, coming at full speed from Station Chowk in his private Scorpio car, stuck the Volve car of the plaintiff from behind. In this collision, another Vitara Brezza car, parked in front of the Volve, was also hit.

In this accident, both vehicles have been damaged badly. Fortunately, no fatality took place as there was no one present inside the car at the time of the accident. The plaintiff complained that Lonikar was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. Taking note of the complaint, Talegaon Police lodged a complaint against Patil, and he had been detained for medical examination.
