Pune: "Don't test the limits of Pune Police's patience. Initially, we will request, but if we lose patience, then we will take stringent action." In these strict words, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, yesterday gave a warning to unauthorised pub and bar owners and other businessmen who are doing illegal business in Pune. On the backdrop of increasing illegal drug rackets, unauthorised bars and pubs, and criminal activities in the city, the Pune police commissioner made this remark.

A civic dialogue with Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar was organised yesterday in Pune. In this dialogue, the Pune Police Commissioner spoke about issues such as social harmony, increasing juvenile crime, increasing drug addiction, and the law and order situation of the city. Also, through this programme, the police commissioner also gave a strict warning to those who were doing illegal business in the city.

"Incidents of violence are recorded and are being put on various social media accounts to create terror in society. This type of glorification of violence is harmful to society, and the Pune police will take every necessary action to maintain the law and order of society," said the Police Commissioner. He also said that maintaining a peaceful situation in the city is the responsibility of every individual.

He also spoke about the murder that took place in Yerawada two days ago due to the inter-religious marriage. He said that such incidents are a shame for our society. At that time, he warned wrongdoers. He said, "Do not test the patience limits of Pune Police. If we run out of patience, then we will show you what 'Dadagiri' is."

He said that various anti-social elements have opened accounts on social media and are posting provocative and criminalised content on it. He said necessary orders have been given to the department to crackdown on such accounts and to take serious action against operators of such accounts.

The increasing vandalism activities of the Koyta Gang, the recent drug video in Pune's Liquid Leisure Lounge, and a Porsche car accident case have raised questions about the efficacy of the Pune police administration's functioning. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what action the Pune police will take after this warning.
