Pregnant Woman Injured In Hit-and-Run Incident In Nighoje, Pune

Pune: In a distressing incident, a pregnant woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday evening in Nighoje, Pune. The injured woman, identified as Shraddha Sagar Yelwande, is currently receiving medical treatment, and fortunately, her unborn baby is reported to be safe.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. when Shraddha Yelwande was walking on the left side of the road at Balingwasti on the Dehu-Nighoje road. A high-speed Swift car, bearing the registration number MH 14 HK 0529, struck her from behind. The impact left Shraddha Yelwande injured, necessitating immediate hospitalisation.
Eyewitnesses reported that following the collision, the driver of the Swift car did not stop and fled the scene. This has prompted an urgent investigation by the Mahalunge police, who are actively searching for the unknown driver responsible for the hit-and-run. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver at the Mhalunge police station.
"The injured woman, Shraddha Yelwande, is pregnant, but we are relieved to inform that her baby is safe," said a police. The police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying the driver of the Swift car. They are also examining CCTV footage from the vicinity of the accident to gather more clues.
