Pune: As June has arrived, the schools in the state will start in the next few days. In the backdrop of this, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan (PMP) has started a 100 percent subsidised pass scheme for school-going students. The PMP has appealed to all students to take advantage of the scheme.
The schools in the city limits generally open in mid-June. Therefore, this year also, the PMP has made its scheme of subsidised passes available to students. The students of fifth to twelfth grade who are learning in the Pune Municipal Corporation schools will get a hundred percent subsidy on their pass fees.
Further, a 75 percent subsidised free bus travel pass will be given to students in grades 5–10 of private schools in Pune Municipal Corporation. From June 12, the necessary application form for this pass will be distributed from all the depots and at the pass centre. Completed applications will be accepted in all of the corporation's offices.
The PMP has appealed that all the passes issued by the corporation should be distributed to the school by the school head. Due to this, all the students will not need to come to the bus depot.
