Pune, September 26, 2024: Pimpri-Chinchwad is rapidly evolving into an industrial and commercial centre with continuous initiatives and development projects from the Municipal Corporation, State Government, and Central Government, said BJP MLA Mahesh Landge. In a recent address to the people of Pimpri-Chinchwad via social media, Landge expressed his optimism about the city's growth over the last decade and shared detailed information about ongoing and future development plans.
*New IT Policy Boosts Employment, Charholi Project Pioneers Progress*
Highlighting the importance of the IT sector, MLA Landge noted that the Maharashtra government's new IT policy has already started generating significant employment opportunities. "The state’s first project under this policy has been launched in Charholi, which will lead to the development of an IT park spanning 30 lakh square feet and create around 50,000 jobs," he said.
*Microsoft to Set Up Two Data Centres in Pimpri-Chinchwad*
Landge also announced that Microsoft is set to open two data centres in the city, one in Pimpri and another in Bhosari. "With Finolex Industries and Philips India signing agreements, Microsoft is investing around Rs 340 crore in the city. This is possible because of Pimpri-Chinchwad's robust infrastructure, efficient administrative processes, and the positive involvement of local representatives," he remarked.
*Supporting Small Entrepreneurs and Strengthening the Industrial Sector*
Emphasising the significance of the industrial sector, Landge said, "Pimpri-Chinchwad’s economy is driven by around 30,000 small and medium entrepreneurs. We are providing all possible support to industrial federations and associations to ensure the right infrastructure is in place. We are also closely working with Industries Minister Uday Samant to resolve challenges faced by small entrepreneurs."
*Ongoing Power Infrastructure Upgrades and International Exhibition Centre Development*
Addressing the region's growing population and industrial demand, Landge detailed efforts to upgrade power infrastructure. "With over 2.7 lakh electricity consumers in Bhosari and nearby areas, the city’s power supply system was under strain. We have launched Mahavitaran Infra-1 and Infra-2 projects to improve power distribution. Additionally, work is underway on the second phase of the International Industrial Exhibition Centre, which will serve as a landmark for the city's industrial growth," he explained.
*Boosting Residential Growth and Regional Economy*
Landge further shared that basic amenities have been improved in areas like Talawade, Chikhli, Charholi, Moshi, and others, transforming the Chikhli-Moshi-Charholi corridor into a prime residential zone. "This development has led to the growth of housing societies and boosted the regional economy. The increase in the Ready Reckoner Rate reflects this progress," he said. "With advancements in sectors like IT, auto, industry, and technology, Pimpri-Chinchwad is on the path to becoming a prominent industrial-commercial business hub," said Landge.
