Pimpri -Chinchwad : Over the past decade, Pimpri-Chinchwad has made remarkable strides towards establishing itself as a premier 'Education Hub,' thanks to the concerted efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Mahayuti government, and the proactive support of the municipal administration. This transformation has been marked by the launch of several ambitious educational projects, instilling confidence in BJP MLA Mahesh Landge that the city is on the right path.
In a recent social media interaction with the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Landge outlined the city’s evolving educational landscape. He highlighted that Pimpri-Chinchwad, already recognized as a thriving industrial and IT hub, is now drawing people from across the country not just for employment but for quality education as well. Landge proudly referred to the city as 'Mini India,' a melting pot where diverse communities converge.
Addressing the challenge of local students having to seek quality education outside the city, Landge emphasized that the focus is now on developing top-tier educational institutions within Pimpri-Chinchwad. "Our goal is to create world-class educational facilities right here in the city, so our students no longer need to venture to Mumbai, Pune, or beyond for higher studies in engineering, medicine, and other modern disciplines," Landge asserted.
One of the standout initiatives is the Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Santpeeth in Talgaon Chikhali, a unique educational complex where over 1,200 students are receiving a blend of traditional Warkari sect teachings and modern education. Landge expressed pride in this institution, calling it India's first of its kind. Additionally, the city is set to house a new branch of a prestigious government engineering college in Moshi, as well as the Pimpri-Chinchwad Medical College and Research Center, which will soon open its doors. Municipal schools across the city are also being transformed into 'Smart Schools' under the Smart City initiative, further enhancing educational standards.
Landge also shared his excitement about the establishment of India’s first 'Sanvidhan Bhavan' in Pimpri-Chinchwad. This landmark project aims to promote awareness of Indian democracy and the Constitution while facilitating the study of democratic frameworks worldwide. Complementing this is the creation of the city's first international-standard library in Moshi, a project that Landge proudly described as a major milestone in the city’s educational journey.
Looking ahead, Landge revealed plans for an IIM (Indian Institute of Management) branch within the Bhosari constituency, aimed at bringing world-class management education to the city. He also discussed ongoing efforts to establish a National Academy of Arts, an International Skill Development Center, a C-DAC center, and a Competitive Exam Guidance Center. "These initiatives will elevate Pimpri-Chinchwad’s educational sector to unprecedented heights," Landge confidently predicted.
The city’s rapid urbanization has been matched by significant educational infrastructure development, with the 'Chikhali-Moshi-Charholi Residential Corridor' serving as a prime example. Over the past decade, 10 new schools have been constructed, with many already operational and others nearing completion. Private schools have also flourished, now numbering 206 in the region. In Landge’s assembly constituency alone, nearly 130,000 students are currently enrolled in both private and government schools, underscoring the city’s growing reputation as a center of learning.
With such initiatives in motion, Pimpri-Chinchwad is poised to become a leading educational destination, ensuring its residents have access to quality education within their own city limits.
