Baramati: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday criticised the opposition parties for staying away from the all-party meeting on the Maratha reservations at the Sahyadri government guesthouse recently.
CM Shinde said, “We have given 10-pc reservations to the Marathas as promised without reducing the OBC or any other quota. Now, the matter is sub judice. Justice Shinde Committee is working on the Kunbi certificate in Marathwada. Huge objections have been filed against the term ‘Sagesoyare’. Various issues were discussed in the recent meeting in Mumbai. We are sorting them out.
“Though it was a very important meeting for the Marathas and the OBCs, the opposition avoided it. They ran away from it. We are sensitive towards issues faced by the Marathas and the OBCs. All should come together and decide.”
CM Shinde departed on a tour in a car from the Baramati airport to review the preparedness ahead of Ashadhi Ekadashi. He was speaking to the media. He added, “I am travelling to Pandharpur to check if all facilities are provided, if roads are okay before Ashadhi Ekadashi. We implemented several infrastructure projects in the State, which was possible through the Centre and the State Government.
“We compared what we did in two years with the MVA government in 2.5 years. We removed all obstacles, which they created. We boosted industrial growth. We launched welfare schemes. We will work harder and come to power again.”
