Pune, September 30, 2024: In a shocking incident today, a 17-year-old student was fatally stabbed on the premises of Tuljaram Chaturchand (TC) College in Baramati. The police have arrested one suspect in connection with the murder, while another is still on the run.

The victim, identified as Atharva Pol, a class 12 student at TC College, was tragically killed in what is believed to be an escalation of an earlier dispute. According to initial reports, the altercation was a continuation of a month-old argument between Atharva and the accused. Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar confirmed that two classmates attacked Atharva with weapons, leading to his untimely death. One suspect has been detained, and police are actively searching for the second.

Superintendent of Police Biradar further revealed that the argument stemmed from a bike overtaking incident a month ago, which had caused tension between Atharva and the two attackers. The dispute eventually culminated in today's violent attack when Atharva arrived at college.

Despite the college having security measures such as CCTV cameras, the accused managed to carry the weapon onto the campus by concealing it in a bag. "Just last week, on September 21, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sudarshan Rathod conducted a session at the college to educate students on issues related to crime and safety," as informed by Biradar.

After the stabbing, Atharva was rushed to Silver Jubilee Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The incident has left the entire Baramati city in shock.

However, for the last few days, incidents of murder, narcotics smuggling, and law and order situations have significantly increased in Pune city.
