Notorious Criminal Killed In Brutal Attack On Aundh-Rawet Road

Pune: A shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. on the Aundh-Rawet road bridge in Rahatni as a notorious criminal met a violent end. Identified as Rehan Arif Shaikh, a 19-year-old resident of Pimple Gurav, the individual was chased and fatally attacked by a gang wielding knives and machetes.
The perpetrators, including Hrithik Chavan, Prem More, Deepak Kokate, and four others who remain unidentified, intercepted Rehan and his companion, Tejas Manohar Hanskar, an 18-year-old resident of Shitolenagar, Juni Sangvi. Tejas filed a complaint at Wakad Police Station regarding the incident the following day.
According to reports, Rehan, along with Tejas and another friend named Harshad Kate, were travelling on a two-wheeler towards Rawet when they were pursued by the accused. The attackers, arriving on three bikes, blocked their path and surrounded them.
In a ruthless assault, Hrithik Chavan plunged a knife into Rehan's neck while Deepak Kokate struck him forcefully with a machete. Rehan succumbed to his injuries on the spot and died.
Rehan Shaikh, a notorious criminal, had a record with the police, with multiple cases registered against him at the Pimpri Chinchwad city police station.
The brazen daylight attack has sparked fear among residents, prompting swift action from law enforcement. The police responded promptly to the scene and have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
