Pune: INDIA’s security forces have killed as many as 28 Naxalites in Chhatisgarh-Bastar region on October 5.

Incidentally, not a single security personnel was injured in the entire operation.

A fierce fight between security forces and Naxalites started around 1 pm on Friday in the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district. By 8 pm, the police said 28 Naxalites had been killed in the gun battled that raged. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai then congratulated the security forces.

The October 5 killing of Naxalites is stated to be the second biggest when it comes to number of casaulties in the conflict zone’s history.

On April 16, 29 Maoists were killed at Kanker-Narayanpur border which was then the biggest casaulty figure of the year. So far, this year, 186 insurgents have been killed in Bastar. In 2023, 20 were killed and in 2022, 30 were killed.
