Mr Kamlesh Soni Takes Charge as Head of NTPC Western Region-I Projects

Mumbai: Mr. Kamlesh Soni has assumed charge as the Regional Executive Director (West-I) of NTPC Western Region-I Projects on 6th of December 2024. Based at NTPC’s Mumbai Headquarters, Shri Soni will oversee the operations of key projects in the region, including Solapur, Mouda, Anta, Ratnagiri, Kawas, and Jhanor Gandhar power stations.

With a career spanning over 36 years, Mr Soni joined NTPC in 1987 and has a rich and diverse background in power plant operations and project management. Over the years, he has held significant leadership roles, including Head of Projects at NTPC Unchahar, Gadarwara, and Meja, where he demonstrated his ability to drive efficiency, ensure timely project completion, and deliver on NTPC’s performance goals.

Under Mr Soni’s stewardship, NTPC Western Region-I will maintain its focus on operational excellence and supporting the organization’s mission of providing affordable and sustainable power. The region, which encompasses both thermal and renewable energy projects, is integral to NTPC’s larger vision of energy transition and sustainability.

NTPC Western Region-I’s portfolio includes some of the company’s key power stations that cater to the region’s industrial and domestic energy demands. Shri Soni’s leadership is expected to further strengthen NTPC’s operational capabilities and ensure continued alignment with India’s energy aspirations.

Mr Soni’s expertise spans Operations, Operation and Management, and Operation Services, making him well-suited to lead the critical projects of NTPC’s Western Region-I. His extensive experience and strategic leadership will be pivotal in meeting the company’s objectives of ensuring reliable power generation, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting India’s growing energy requirements.
