Pune, August 14, 2024:A perturbing incident has come to light from Ranjane village in Rajgad Taluka of Pune district, where a 22-year-old individual was buried alive in the ground after he fell from the electricity tower. This incident was revealed after the mother of the buried individual filed a police complaint at Sinhagad Road Police Station.
The buried individual has been identified as Basavraj Mangrule, and he was a resident of Vadgaon Budruk. In the police investigation, police arrested two of his friends, Rupesh Arun Yenpure (age 25) and Saurabh Bapu Renuse (age 25), both residents of Pabe village in Rajgad Taluka, Pune.
As Basavraj had been missing since July 12, his mother subsequently filed his missing complaint at Sinhagad Road Police Station. During the police investigation of the case, police detained Yenpure and Renuse and interrogated them about the incident.
During the interrogation, both of the accused revealed a shocking incident to the police. As per the information, Basavraj and his friends had gone to Pabe village in Rajgad taluka for paddy planting on July 12. On the next day, Basavaraj and his friends, Saurabh and Rupesh, climbed the electricity tower in Ranjane village in an attempt to steal electricity by cutting the wires.
Unfortunately, at that time, Basavaraj fell down from the electricity tower as the wire he held broke. Shockingly, instead of taking him to the hospital, his friends buried him alive in the pit in a secluded area, believing he had died. Two days ago, a team from the Sinhagad Road police station, a medical officer, and an officer from the revenue department exhumed Mangrule’s body from the spot.
The accused confessed that they buried Mangrule in the pit, believing that he had died after falling from the electricity tower. After that, Sinhagad police took action against both the accused, registering them under the charges of culpable homicide. The further investigation of the case has been handed over to Velhe police station under Pune Rural Police.
