Pune: All party leaders are on a tour of the State ahead of the State Assembly elections. Wherever they are going, they are confronted by Maratha Kranti Morcha coordinators, who are asking politicians to explain their stance on the Maratha quota. 

In this backdrop, a meeting of Congress leaders was held at Congress Bhavan, Pune, where Opposition Leader in State Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, former Chief Ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde and Prithviraj Chavan, Satej alias Bunty Patil, MP Praniti Shinde, Pune City Unit President Arvind Shinde and current and former office-bearers were present. 

As the meeting progressed, the coordinators of Maratha Kranti Morcha in Pune arrived at Congress Bhavan and started raising slogans.

The Maratha Kranti Morcha coordinators gheraoed MPCC President Nana Patole and asked him to explain his party’s stance on the Maratha quota. 

Patole told them that the BJP has not kept its promises made to various communities in the past 10 years. The BJP has, in fact, driven a wedge between communities. He said, “The ruling parties are against reservations. Therefore, when the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) forms the government in the State, we will find a solution to the reservation issues of the Marathas and the OBCs. My party has already explained its stand on the issue.”
