Pune, September 19, 2024: In a tragic incident on September 18, Yuvraj Shankar Chavan, a 65-year-old project manager of a construction company, died after his two-wheeler collided with a tanker on the Mumbai-Bangalore bypass near Vadgaon bridge. The Sinhagad Road police have arrested the tanker driver, Bhagwan Pandurang Kshirsagar, in connection with the accident.

Yuvraj Chavan, a resident of Deshmukh Nagar, Shivane, was returning home from work at around 7:00 p.m. on September 18, when the collision occurred. The tanker, en route to Mumbai, struck Chavan’s motorcycle on the Vadgaon bridge, leading to severe injuries. Despite being rushed to a private hospital, Chavan succumbed to his injuries before treatment could be administered.

Nath Singh Yuvraj Chavan, the victim's son, has lodged a complaint at the Sinhagad Road Police Station in this regard. Accordingly, the police have arrested the tanker driver, Bhagwan Kshirsagar (age 48 years), and a resident of Malewadi, Taluka Walwa, District Sangli. Assistant Police Inspector Praveen Jadhav is leading the investigation into the incident.

The authorities are continuing their efforts to address these dangerous conditions and improve road safety.
