Pune: A big update has come in the Kalyaninagar Porsche car accident case. In this case, members of the Juvenile Justice Board have been sent notices as they granted bail to the minor accused within 15 hours of the accident. In this notice, the members were asked to submit a report within five days.

The Women and Child Welfare Commissioner, Prashant Naranvare, has clarified that a committee established by the Women and Child Welfare Commission submitted a report depicting several lacunae of the Juvenile Justice Board while awarding bail to the minor accused. He said that based on the report submitted by a committee, the members were asked to give clarification on it within five days.

On the night of May 19, a 17-year-old minor accused struck two individuals by his car under the influence of alcohol. In this case, when the minor accused was presented to the Juvenile Justice Board after the accident, the member of the Juvenile Justice Board, L. N. Dhanawate, released the minor accused on extremely lenient terms within 15 hours.

Dhanawate asked the minor accused to write down a 300-word essay on the accident, to manage traffic in the city for 15 days, and to take the help of counsellors while granting him bail. After this decision, people harshly criticised the board's decision in this case.

After a lot of criticism, the Women and Child Welfare Department formed a five-member committee to investigate the decision of the JJB. The 100-page report prepared by this committee has mentioned several mistakes made by the members. Accordingly, the members were asked to submit their answers to the committee within five days.
