The Indian Army said that a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, killing at least two soldiers and injuring one more, reported India Today.

At 3:30 pm, the explosion occurred close to the line of control, where army men were on patrol.

Two of the three troops, including a captain, were killed after they were taken to a neighbouring hospital in a severe condition, as per India Today report.
