Two Killed By 17 Year Old Driving Luxury Car Rashly

Pune: In yet another shocking tragedy which has become a regular thing on Pune's roads, two persons were killed after a luxury Porsche car which was being driven by a minor, slammed into their motorcycle, in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune city, in the wee hours of morning.
Anish Awadiya and Ashwini Costa, two friends, were returning home after partying at a club around 3.15 am. The 17 year old boy who riding a Porsche Taycan, slammed into the two motorcycles at Kalyani Nagar chowk, police said.
Such was the impact of the collision, that the two two-wheeler riders were thrown into the air and then they landed on another car. They died on the spot, police said.
The Pune police have registered a case of rash driving, causing death by negligence, endangering human lives against the 17 year old. The police are also questioning his parents.
Minors driving a car or riding a two-wheeler is a common sight in Pune. Activists say police should first create awareness about this and then start taking stringent action including hauling up the parents as well. ''In a recent case, the police had arrested the parents of a minor. Similar action should be taken in such cases,'' a civic activist said.
