Pune: Yesterday, a tragic incident took place in which two students died after being drowned in the Kasarsai dam. This incident took place on Wednesday, May 29, at around 1 p.m. The drowned students have been identified as Murli Krishna Bola (age 21, a resident of Koregaon Park and an original native of Andhra Pradesh), and Kunal Sarvesh Dube (age 21, a resident of Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, Pune).
The senior inspector of Shirgaon Police Station, Digambar Suryawanshi, informed that four students who have been learning at Wadia College for B.Com. had come to the Kasarsai Dam on Wednesday. All four students entered the water. However, as they could not judge the depth of the water, two of the students drowned.
The other students began shouting for help, prompting local residents to attempt a rescue, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The incident was then reported to the local police station.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the PMRDA and personnel from the disaster management department of the Maval Wildlife Security Organisation quickly arrived at the scene and retrieved the two students from the water. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, they died before any treatment could be administered.
