Tragic Landslide In Malshej Ghat Claims Two Lives, Injures Three

Pune: Yesterday, a heartbreaking incident took place in Malshej Ghat on the Kalyan-Nagar highway near the Ganesha temple at around 6:30 in the evening, in which two individuals lost their lives in a landslide. An uncle and his nephew died in this incident, whereas the other three individuals received injuries.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Rahul Bhalerao and his nephew, Swayam Bhalerao. Mother of a six-year-old Swayam, Vimal Bhalerao, father Baban Bhalerao, and brother Sachin Bhalerao, survived briefly. All were residents of Mulund, Mumbai.
According to the information, the Bhalero family was en route to Chandanpuri in the Sangamner area of Ahmednagar district from Mumbai to get the caste certificates of their children in their rickshaw. While they were travelling from Malshej Ghat in the evening, a sudden landslide occurred in which one part of the hill collapsed on their rickshaw. In this incident, uncle Rahul and his nephew Swayam were killed on the spot, while others survived briefly.
After the incident, the local police team immediately rushed to the spot and promptly took the people into the nearby government hospital in Otur. However, doctors declared both of them dead on their arrival. Local police are conducting further investigation into it.
