Tough Battles Expected As Large Number Of Candidates File Nominations For Solapur And Madha Lok Sabha Seats

Pune: In the race for the Solapur reserved Lok Sabha seat, the filing of nominations concluded with a total of 41 candidates throwing their hats into the ring. Meanwhile, the Madha Lok Sabha constituency saw a total of 42 candidates vying for victory.
The final day of filing nominations on Friday saw a flurry of activity, with 22 candidates submitting their applications for the Madha Lok Sabha seat. Notable among them were Laxman Hake, representing Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray group, and Sachin Deshmukh from the Shetkari Kamgar Paksha (SKP).
The constituency is poised for an intense battle between the BJP's MP Ranjitsinh Naik-Nimbalkar and Nationalist Sharad Pawar's Dhairyasheel Mohite-Patil. Adding to the competition, senior leader Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil filed a supplementary application, while Ramesh Baraskar of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi also threw his hat into the ring.
Meanwhile, in the Solapur reserved Lok Sabha seat, 19 candidates filed their nominations on Friday, bringing the total number of contestants to 41. In Solapur, a fierce contest is anticipated between Congress MLA Praniti Shinde and BJP MLA Ram Satpute, both considered strong contenders in the constituency.
With the filing of nominations completed, the next step is the scrutiny of applications, scheduled for Saturday. Candidates have until April 22 to withdraw their nominations ahead of voting day on May 7.b
