Three Acquitted In Dr Dabholkar Murder Case; CBI Should Immediately File An Appeal: Mukta Dabholkar
Pune: Mukta Dabholkar has demanded that the CBI should immediately file an appeal in the High Court against the acquittal of three accused in the Dr Narendra Dabholkar murder case. The verdict in the matter was delivered on May 10 this year.
Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar were awarded life imprisonment and Rs 5 lakh fine. However, Dr Virendrasinh Tawde, Adv Sanjeev Punalekar and Vikram Bhave were absolved of all charges.
Dr Dabholkar was shot dead 11 years ago. His 11th death anniversary was observed by workers of the Maharashtra Andhshraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) at the Vitthal Ramji Shinde Bridge, the incident spot, on Tuesday (August 20). Mukta Dabholkar was speaking while playing tributes to Dr Dabholkar. Milind Deshmukh, Hamid Dabholkar, Nandini Jadhav, Pravin Deshmukh, Anna Kadalaskar, Shripal Lalwani, Anil Velhal, Ganesh Chinchole and many workers were present.
Milind Deshmukh and Hamid Dabholkar said that MANS workers will hand over petitions to MPs across the State on the 11th death anniversary of Dr Dabholkar. They will demand a nation-wide legislation against superstition and black magic. Moreover, an anti-superstition cell will be set up at every police station as per the order by the DGP (Law & order). MANS workers will submit petitions at various police stations to implement the decision.
