Pune, September 5, 2024: As Maharashtra gears up for the upcoming Ganeshotsav festival, the state government has announced the transfer of several IPS officers across the state. This move includes notable changes in key positions within the police force.

One of the prominent transfers is that of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Deshmukh, who has been reassigned to Mumbai Police as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Replacing him is Sandeep Singh Gill, who was previously serving as DCP (Zone 1) of Pune City Police and will now take charge as the SP of Pune Rural Police.

In another significant shift, IPS officer Tejaswi Satpute, who formerly held the position of DCP Traffic in Pune, is set to return to Pune as the Deputy Commissioner of Police. She had been serving as DCP with Mumbai Police before this transfer.

A total of 10 police officers have been transferred in this reshuffle, with some receiving promotions and taking on senior ranks within the Indian Police Service (IPS).
