Social Worker Ikram Khan Felicitated At Hanuman Temple On The Occasion Of Ram Navami
Pune: Prominent social worker and Founder of Sarva Dharma Samabhav Trust Ikram Khan was felicitated for his exemplary communal harmony related work by trustees of Hanuman Temple in Kalyaninagar on the occasion of Ramnavami Celebrations in Pune. The Khan family has been at the forefront in serving the temple and its devotees for more than fifty years and won the hearts of countless Hindus and Muslims for their secular approach in bringing the two communities on one platform. Khan who is also a leading businessman and an avid golfer has been instrumental in organising a number of national unity events during the past two decades aimed at maintaining the social fabric of the society. He has recently organised an all community Iftar at Sadal Baba Dargah in Yerawada which was attended by the varkari sampraday ( community ) who especially came to the shrine and performed bhajans and kirtans in praise of humanity and oneness. Ikram Khan was also invited to offer ‘Chaddar of Peace ’ at the sanctum sanctorum of Alandi temple by the top management in June 2011. The industrialist has also been felicitated by state and union governments for his contributions towards hockey , golf and strengthening the bonds of national unity.
