Pune: Yesterday, on May 5, both factions of the NCP took a last campaign meeting for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency before the Baramati constituency goes for voting on May 7. In those meetings, leaders from both sides targeted each other and appealed to people to vote for their respective candidates.
Amidst this, Shrinivas Pawar, the younger brother of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has made a big disclosure about the early morning swearing-in ceremony of Ajit Pawar in 2019. He said that the decision to take an oath with the BJP had not been taken by taking Sharad Pawar into confidence.
After the split in the NCP in June last year, Ajit Pawar made big revelations about Sharad Pawar's constant political flip-flops. At that time, Ajit Pawar claimed that the decision of swearing-in-ceremony was taken by Sharad Pawar only, but later he reneged on his words.
However, Shrinivas Pawar has now refused Ajit Pawar's claim and gave insights into the incident while speaking with reporters after the last campaign meeting for Supriya Sule finished yesterday. Shrinivas Pawar said, "In each party, the authority to discuss is vested in a certain leader. This authority was given to Ajit Pawar in the NCP. Ajit Pawar was asked to discuss with the BJP in 2019. However, they were not asked to take a decision."
He further said that in any party, after the discussion, the party president takes the final decision. However, the decision taken by a few leaders at that time was not consulted with Sharad Pawar. "If that decision were Sharad Pawar's, he would not have allowed that government to fall. If we hold Ajit Pawar's claim true, then according to that, Pawar Saheb would have said, Okay, what happened is done; now let's move on. But that did not happen. And hence, we can surely say that decision was definitely not Sharad Pawar's," Srinivasa Pawar has revealed.
At this time, Srinivas Pawar also targeted the leaders of the Ajit Pawar group. The NCP-Sharad Pawar group has now become a party of people with clean character. Those who were accused changed sides. Now there are people of clean character in the NCP-SP party.
