Pune Police Nab Key Suspect In Firearms Supply Linked To Vanraj Andekar Murder Case; 21 Accused Detained So Far

Pune, September 27, 2024:: In another significant development in the Vanraj Andekar murder case, the Pune police arrested the pistol supplier accused on Wednesday, September 25. Police identified the arrested individual as Abhishek alias Aba Narayan Khond (age 24).
Khond, who is a resident of Laxmi Garden Society, Deshmukhwadi, Shivane, is a key accused in the Vanraj Andekar murder case, and he has been charged with supplying firearms to terminate Andekar. So far, police have arrested 21 individuals in the murder case, including Khond.
After the arrest, Khond was produced before the special court on Thursday, which has granted him police custody until October 1.
On September 1, at around 8.30 p.m., Andekar was shot dead by firing a bullet and stabbing him with a machete in the Doke Talim Chowk area of Nana Peth. After that, the father of murdered Vanraj Andekar, Suryakant alias Bandu Andekar, who himself is a dreaded gangster, lodged a complaint at Samarth Police Station.
In the subsequent investigation, police found that Andekar was murdered from the supremacy and familial dispute. Vanraj Andekar was having property disputes with his sister Sanjeevani Komkar and brothers-in-law Jayant, Prakash, and Ganesh. They roped the rival of Vanraj Andekar, Somnath Gaikwad, into their plan and allegedly killed Andekar on September 1.
Meanwhile, in the investigation of the case, police officials Nilesh Sable and Datta Sonawane received a tip-off from their informant that the key accused, who provided firearms to the accused in this murder case, was at NDA Road. Accordingly, police laid a trap and swiftly detained Abhishek Khond. Police are further investigating the case.
