Pune:  The Pune District’s Reunion Day program, coupled with the celebration of MCYM Day, was held at Kalewadi Parish today. The event brought together the faithful from various parishes in the district, fostering a spirit of unity, peace, and Christian fellowship.

The day began with the Holy Qurbono, concelebrated by all the priests of the district, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Shaji Mathews Vazhayil as the main celebrant. During the homily, Rev. Fr. Joseph Cyprian OIC emphasized the importance of Christian Unity and the peace established through the reunion of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church with the Catholic Church.

Following the religious service, the MCYM Day program commenced, with the hoisting of the MCYM flag and the singing of the MCYM anthem, highlighting the youth's active role in the Church’s mission.

After that the Public Meeting commenced. Rev. Fr. Isaac Samuel OIC delivered the welcome speech, setting a warm tone for the gathering.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. Dr. Shaji Mathews Vazhayil addressed the gathering with the presidential speech, followed by the Chief Guest, Rt. Rev. Dr. Roque Alphonso, Vicar General of the Poona Diocese, who delivered the inaugural speech and ceremonially lit the lamp to mark the beginning of the event.

There was the presence of distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr. Joseph Cyprian OIC, Sr. Merline SIC, Mr. Rex Yohannan, Mrs. Shirley Rex, Mr. Benjohn Mathews, and Master Noah Bejoy who delivered the felicitation Speech.

A highlight of the public meeting was the felicitation of couples celebrating 25 years of marriage, acknowledging their commitment and love. The Pune Choir then performed a beautiful group song, adding to the joy of the occasion. Mr. Mathew Chempanal concluded the meeting with a heartfelt vote of thanks. The session officially ended with the singing of the Papal Anthem followed by the agape.

 The program continued with the screening of the movie Hope for the attendees, bringing the day's celebrations to a close by 3 PM.
