Pune: After the arrest of the minor accused in the Kalyaninagar tragic car accident case, the Pune police have now also arrested the father of the accused, Vishal Agarwal. Vishal Agarwal is a builder from Pune, and his son was detained by Pune police in a hit-and-run case on Sunday morning. After a case was registered against his son, Vishal Agarwal absconded from the police arrest. Finally, the team of Pune police's crime branch detained Vishal Agarwal from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the early hours of Tuesday.

Vishal Agarwal will now be brought to Pune by Tuesday afternoon, and he will be produced in court after the arrest process.

What are the charges against Vishal Agarwal?

Vishal Agarwal's son, Vedant Agarwal, rammed a two-wheeler on Sunday midnight, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals. At the time of the accident, Vedant was driving the car despite being a juvenile and not having a valid passport. Therefore, Vishal Agarwal was booked under Sections 3, 5, and 199 of the Motor Vehicle Act for allowing his son to drive the car even though he was a minor.

A case under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act was also booked against Vishal Agarwal for allowing his minor son to party despite knowing that he was drinking alcohol. After the registration of charges against him, Vishal Agarwal absconded from Pune.

After this accident, anger is being expressed across the state, including Pune. In the police investigation, it was found that the expensive car that Vedant Agarwal was driving did not have a number plate. After that, Pune police also started searching for a dealer who provided a car to the Agarwal family without a number plate.

Meanwhile, the state excise department has taken action against the owners of pubs at the five-star Marriott Suites for selling liquor to minors. In this case, the State Excise Department has filed a charge sheet against Sagar Chordia, the owner of Panchasheel Infrastructure, in court. Apart from this, the State Excise Department also filed another charge sheet against hotel Kazi owner Prahlad Bhutda, manager Sachin Katkar, Sandeep Sangle of Hotel Black, and bar counter Jayesh Bonkar for serving liquor to minors.
