Pune: In a distressing incident within the Pimpri-Chinchwad police station limits, a 23-year-old man, Vinay Vilas Naikare, the son of a police inspector, was arrested for hitting a woman with his car. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in major injuries to the woman, who is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The incident was captured on CCTV, which clearly showed the car driven by Vinay Naikare striking the woman as she was crossing the road. Following the incident, Jivaram Tejaram Chaudhari filed a complaint at the Bhosari police station, leading to the subsequent arrest of Naikare.

According to detailed reports, the accident happened on Wednesday afternoon when the woman was crossing the road. Vinay Naikare, driving at high speed, hit the woman from behind. Despite the severity of the impact, the woman survived with serious injuries.

The CCTV footage, which has since been reviewed by the authorities, played a crucial role in establishing the sequence of events and confirming the involvement of Vinay Naikare in the accident. It took 24 hours for the Bhosari police to officially register the case against the accused.

Vinay Naikare has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicle Act. Specifically, he is facing charges under IPC Sections 279, 337, and 338. Additionally, he has been booked under Sections 182 and 199/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
