Police Put On Their Toes As Engineer Calls Up Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Saying PM Modi’s Life In Danger
Pimpri: An engineer was detained for calling up the Pimpri-Chinchwad police control room and for telling them that there was a life threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he should be saved.
The State Police were immediately on their toes. The Pimpri-Chinchwad police traced the caller and detained him. They were interrogating him.
PM Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit the city on Thursday (September 26). In all, over Rs 22,600-crore 12 major projects, including the underground Metro route from Shivajinagar to Swargate, were to be inaugurated and bhumi-pujan of some was to be performed by him. However, rains played spoilsport and his visit was cancelled.
The young engineer called up the emergency control room on Thursday morning. He said, “Save Prime Minister Narendra Modi…, help him.”
The State Police were put on the alert. The police traced his location in the Thergaon area. The Wakad Police immediately detained him from a bus stop. The youth is from Udgir, district Latur and went to visit his friend in Thergaon.
He was put under sustained interrogation to know why he made the call and what inputs induced him to make it. The State Anti-Terrorist Squad launched a parallel investigation.
