Pimpri- Chinchwad: Pimpri Chinchwad Police are intensifying their efforts to combat the illegal trade of gutkha and ganja in the city and its surrounding areas. In a recent operation conducted by the Bhosari police, a significant amount of banned Gutkha was seized from Shree Samarth General Stores in Gavane Vasti. One individual has been apprehended in connection with the case.

According to Police Constable Prabhakar Hanumant Khade, a complaint was filed at the Bhosari Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against Nitesh Ananda Navghare, a resident of Bhosari. The seized Gutkha, valued at Rs. 4,52,150, was found to be in violation of various sections of the IPC.

The police team, patrolling within the jurisdiction of the Bhosari police station, received information about the illegal sale of Gutkha at Shree Samarth General Stores. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the team conducted a raid and apprehended Nitesh Navghare. Further investigation into the matter is being carried out by police sub-inspector Khade.

In a separate operation conducted by the Chakan police, a significant quantity of ganja was seized from an individual transporting it for sale in the area. The incident occurred at Medankarwadi, resulting in the arrest of Nanda Ranganath Salunke, aged 50, residing in Medankarwadi, Taluka Khed, and Bhau Medgule, a resident of Medgulewadi, Taluka Shirur.

Police Constable Randhir Mane filed a complaint at the Chakan police station, and the case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation revealed that Nanda Salunke was given the ganja by Bhau Medgule for selling purposes. Chakan Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
