Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Crack Down On Nine Criminal Gangs Under MCOCA; Apprehend 42 Accused So Far This Year

Pimpri- Chinchwad: As the Lok Sabha elections for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are underway, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have intensified their preparations to maintain law and order in the city.
As a part of this preparation, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have so far taken action against nine hardcore criminal gangs in the city under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
Notably, in the action taken against nine criminal gangs in the city, police have apprehended 42 accused of these gangs so far.
Conducting the Lok Sabha elections in a fear-free, peaceful, and transparent manner is the foremost priority currently for Chinchwad police. Therefore, police are pre-emptively taking strict actions against those who have a long-standing criminal history and those who can potentially create terror among the people in the midst of an election atmosphere.
During the investigation of one of the murder cases registered at Mahalunge MIDC police station, police found that the accused had committed seven crimes in an organised manner. These accused have been booked in Mahalunge MIDC, Chakan, MIDC Bhosari, Sangvi, and Paud police station limits for murder, attempted murder, extortion, kidnapping, kidnapping for ransom, forced theft, illegal possession of firearms, etc.
The gangs that have been booked under MCOCA so far include:
The Suraj Kirwale gang from Pimpri, consisting of four accused,.
The Rohit Khatal gang from Wakad has twelve accused.
The Aman Pujari Gang from Nigdi, comprising three accused.
The Rahul Yadav gang from Chikhli has five accused.
The Pawan Ujagare gang from Bhosari, consisting of three accused,.
The Aditya alias Niranjan Ahirrao gang from Wakad, with three accused.
The Nilesh Renwa gang from Chikhli comprises four accused.
The Adarsh alias Kukya Jagtap gang from Bhosari, with three accused.
The Rahul Pawar gang from Mahalunge MIDC, consisting of five accused.
All the accused are now facing action under the MCOCA Act.
