Pune: MLA Rohit Pawar and Partha Pawar, despite recent political tensions in the family and within the party, made headlines as they came together during the Baghad Yatra in Hinjewadi on Tuesday night. This unexpected show of unity once again reignited discussions about the Pawar family's solidarity amidst the ongoing political conflict.
The Pawar family has been embroiled in internal strife following the split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), particularly between Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The political landscape further heated up as Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar, entered the electoral battle against Sharad Pawar's daughter, MP Supriya Sule, in Baramati.
On the one hand, the entire Pawar family backed Supriya Sule and campaigned for her in Baramati; on the other hand, allegations of isolation and family discord have been rife from the Ajit Pawar during campaigning.
Rohit Pawar's visit to Pimpri-Chinchwad city on Tuesday to file the nomination form for Sanjog Waghere, a candidate of the Mahavikas Aaghadi from Maval, stirred controversy. Despite Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar now campaigning for the candidate who defeated his son Partha, Rohit made a pointed remark about seeking vengeance for Parth's defeat.
However, the unexpected twist came later that night during the Baghad Yatra in Hinjewadi, where Parth and Rohit Pawar were spotted together, seemingly setting aside their political differences. As they climbed the cart, Parth extended his hand to Rohit, and the two exchanged supportive gestures amidst the crowded atmosphere. This gesture, captured in videos and photographs, circulated in large numbers on social media.
